Around the Shul
Shabbat services this Friday night February 3 services will begin at 6:30pm. This Saturday February 4, services will begin at 10am and will not be preceded by a learning session. We will begin with shacharit at 10 and the service will incorporate an interactive learning session. Services will be followed by a kiddish luncheon.
Jewish Book club Information
The Book Club will meet on Sun., Feb. 12 at 11 am at the home of Sarah Friedman. Soup and talk--the book is "The Ghost of Hannah Mendes" by Naomi Ragan. There are 2 copies at the Lincoln Library--so put your name now.

The Megillah Goes Country!
Singing ability - Welcome but NOT required.
Musicians needed - Guitar, keyboard, banjo, harmonica, fiddle, bass.
Casting - As usual, we will try to cast men in women's roles and women in men's roles. The roles include Queen Vashti, Queen Esther, Esther's Wise Old Serving Woman and two other Serving Women, King Ahasuerus, the King's three advisers, Mordecai, Haman, Haman's three henchmen, the Chorus, and the Kids' Chorus.
Rehearsal ScheduleSundays, 1-3 pm - January 8, 22, 29; February 5, 12, 19, 26; March 4
Tuesdays, 7-9 pm - February 7, 21; March 6
Second grade kids and younger rehearse only on Sunday, March 4, and Tuesday, March 6.
All rehearsals will be in the Temple Sanctuary.
Performance - Wednesday, March 7, at 6:30 pm - Cast assembles at 5:30 for the 6:30 show (possible repeat performance in Grand Island, if cast agrees).

Lincoln Jewish Community School News
The Lincoln Jewish Community School offers religious education from Pre-school through High School. We are a jointly run school conducted by Congregation B'Nai Jeshrun and Congregation Tifereth Israel.The mission of the Lincoln Jewish Community School is to teach our children the richness of our heritage, help them to achieve a positive Jewish identity and encourage them to actively participate in Jewish life at home, in the community and in the world.
The LJCS provides a strong, integrated curriculum rich in the study/implementation of Holidays, History Tanach (Torah),Mitzvot/Tzedakah, Israel and the Hebrew language.
We find many opportunities for exploration into the spiritual aspects of religion and tradition in addition to "hands-on" experiences and programs that allow our students to practice observances in their home and at school.
Religious School classes will meet at their normal times and buildings this Sunday February 5.
